Nature’s Way Resources is a recognized leader in high-quality horticulture products and native plants, serving the Houston area for over 30 years. As a pioneer in organic landscaping supplies, the company is committed to sustainable solutions and environmental stewardship. Due to ongoing growth, Nature’s Way Resources is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Manager to drive sales of compost, soils, and mulches in bulk and bagged formats. This field-based role is ideal for a motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships, developing new business, and contributing to the company’s mission of providing organic solutions to a diverse customer base.
Responsibilities
· Develop and implement sales strategies to grow revenue in compost, soil, mulch, and related organic products.
· Manage territory or team budgets, including travel and marketing expenses, to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
· Identify and target key customer segments, including landscapers, nurseries, garden centers, municipalities, environmental firms, golf courses, agricultural users, and contractors.
· Prospect for new business and nurture existing client relationships through site visits, presentations, product demonstrations, and cold outreach.
· Negotiate pricing, contracts, and quotations to meet customer needs while supporting company goals.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
· Coordinate with internal teams: operations, production, quality control, logistics, and marketing to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
· Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and relevant environmental regulations affecting compost and soil products.
· Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline tracking, and regular reporting using CRM and sales analytics tools.
· Participate in trade shows, educational seminars, and promotional events to represent the company and expand market presence.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
· 5+ years of outside sales experience, ideally in compost, organics, landscaping, soil amendments, mulch, or related industries.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical product details to a variety of audiences.
· Proven negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
· Willingness to travel extensively within Houston and surrounding areas, including occasional overnight trips or attendance at industry events.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
· Comfortable working in outdoor and industrial environments, such as nurseries, farms, and construction sites.
· Proficiency with CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office.

Compensation
· Salary: $50,000-$80,000
