Job Description

This position is listed as "Onsite"; the resource is expected to work between the standard working hours of 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks) every Monday to Friday inclusive at the identified OPS office location.

Responsibilities:

Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing

Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests)

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components. The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Skills and competencies required for the assignment:

Quality Assurance Methodology: 55%

Senior System Tester with 3+ years of experience in process, planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts

Experience with integration testing strategies for asynchronous and event-driven architectures

Extensive background in testing system integrations in service-oriented and microservices environments

Experience with manual testing

Experience in working with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software.

Knowledge and experience in testing of the Registry system (ex. Catalyst).

Knowledge of the systems development cycle (SDLC), software test life cycle (STLC), project management.

Knowledge of application development methodologies, techniques and methods, structured

Quality Assurance Experience: 35%

Analysis and design methodology, techniques; structured testing

Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for test case management, pipelines, and defect tracking

Solid understanding of web service protocols including SOAP, REST, XML, and JSON

Proficient in testing REST and SOAP APIs, security, and data integrity through structured request/response analysis

Analysis of business requirements and functional designs

Knowledge of Risk and evidence-based testing

Analysis of business rules

Creation of the test cases, traceability matrix

Defining the expected results

Creation of test data, test user accounts

Creation of database queries to select test data and ensure database integrity

Recording the results of the testing in DevOps/JIRA

Experience in entry, exit and acceptance testing criteria

Internet and Intranet, operating systems, databases, network protocols, and data transformation.

Excellent written communication skills to document and report complex findings from testing projects to project owners.

Identifying the test scenarios

Must Have:

• Expert experience in scripting, executing, and maintaining automated API/web service tests using: third-party tools such as ReadyAPI, SoapUI and Postman
• Design/coding techniques such as schema validation, parameter passing, and Groovy scripting
• Hands-on testing experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle, structured SQL-based query languages, and IBM API Connect platform.
• QA testing experience (functional and non-functional) of ReST-based transactional web services in an n-tier Java EE server environment

Nice to have:

Ideally in the context of occupational and/or business registry systems
