Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms with our staffing services for over 65 years. We currently have two long-term contract, or a contract-to-direct Manufacturing Engineer openings at our national aerospace controls client in Valencia, CA. These are onsite positions. The contractor target pay rate range is from $60 - $80 per hour DOE.

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer with experience in fluid systems to support developmental aerospace and defense programs . This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for components and assemblies involving hydraulic, pneumatic, and other fluid systems in compliance with DoD standards.

• Develop and refine manufacturing processes for fluid systems and related components on developmental DoD programs.
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of fluid systems (tubes, hoses, fittings, pumps, valves).
• Support technology transfer from R&D to production, ensuring compliance with MIL-SPEC , AS9100 , and other defense standards.
• Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and tooling requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
• Ensure adherence to ITAR , DFARS , and other regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance efficiency.
• Coordinate with suppliers for specialized fluid system components and materials.
• Support validation and qualification of processes, including first article inspections and process capability studies .

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or any related field. 

Min 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience with at least 2 of those years in fluid systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, fuel systems). 

Min 2 years of experience in defense or aerospace programs. 

Min 1 year of experience with CAD (ideally Solidworks or Catia). 

Min 3 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing (a plus to have Six Sigma belt/training) 

This is an aerospace ITAR facility, U.S. Persons required (Green Card acceptable). 

Preferred: 10+ years of experience 

A plus to have AS9100 and MIL-Spec experience
