Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. Work You'll Do We are seeking a highly experienced Government Sector Research and Development (R&D) Team Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of working with government research facilities, with a strong background in R&D, focused on fossil fuels. This role requires a strategic thinker with an eye for innovation/R&D, with the ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and provide insightful briefings to senior leaders on key energy and fossil fuels issues. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, critical minerals, or other relevant engineering or science field; Master's degree preferred. - 5+ years of experience working with on matters related to the energy ecosystem including issues relevant to the fossil fuels and/or critical minerals industry. - Experience with research and development programs. - Familiar working with large, complex, datasets, conducting research, and performing high-level analysis. - Experience working with experience working with government research facilities. - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future - Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role - Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve Preferred: - Demonstrated ability to succinctly and cogently brief senior leaders on key energy, fossil fuel, and critical mineral issues across the value chain in writing and verbally. - Comfortable working on a team, communicating clients, preparing technical deliverables, and working efficiently. - Experience collaborating with junior staff to undertake analysis and take part in research and operations activities. - Experience publishing in technical journals, working on academic research, and exposure to research and development processes (R&D).
