Ideal Candidate  We are seeking a Data Tester, not a traditional QA tester. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing data flows from SAP source systems. This role requires:

• A basic understanding of SAP functional modules (e.g., FI, MM, SD, etc.)
• Experience in extracting data from SAP systems
• Strong skills in writing and executing SQL queries to validate data
• The ability to combine technical data testing with functional SAP knowledge

Senior Data Tester -ETL local to Boston MA

Contract Duration 6 months + high possibility of extending further

Hybrid - Onsite 3 days a week @ client location Boston, MA or Springfield, MA

We are looking for a detail-oriented  Data Tester with hands-on experience in data validation and a strong understanding of  SAP data and business processes .
The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing data flows from SAP source systems to downstream data warehouses, analytics platforms, and reporting tools.
This role combines technical data testing skills with functional knowledge of SAP modules to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of enterprise data.

• Design, develop, and execute  test cases for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from  SAP systems (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW) to target data environments.
• Validate  data accuracy and integrity across SAP source tables and downstream systems (data lakes, DWH, BI tools).
• Verify data mappings between  SAP modules (such as FI, CO, MM, SD, or HR) and target models.
• Perform  data reconciliation and ensure that business rules and KPIs derived from SAP data are correctly implemented.
• Collaborate with  data engineers ,  SAP functional consultants , and  business analysts to resolve data issues.
• Develop and maintain  automated data validation scripts using SQL and Python.
• Document test results, defects, and data quality metrics; communicate findings with technical and functional teams.
• Support  UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and provide guidance on data validation best practices.

• 13 years of experience of which 6+ years of experience in  data testing, ETL testing , or  data quality assurance .
• Strong knowledge of  SAP data structures, tables, and functional modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, etc.).
• Proficiency in  SQL for validating and reconciling data across SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Experience with  ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, DataStage, or dbt).
• Experience writing  Python scripts for automated data validation.
• Understanding of  data warehouses ,  data lakes , and  data modeling concepts .
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret SAP business data.

• Experience working with  SAP extractors ,  IDOCs , or  BW data flows .
• Familiarity with  Snowflake ,  BigQuery ,  AWS Redshift , or other cloud data platforms.
