Advantra is partnering with a leading energy utility to hire a Customer/1 Billing Tester to support testing of billing systems and integrations within enterprise utility platforms. This role ensures accuracy and reliability of billing processes through structured test design and execution.
About the role
You will validate end-to-end billing functionality within Customer/1 and related systems. The role includes test planning, execution, defect tracking, and collaboration with development and business teams to ensure billing accuracy and compliance for utility operations.
Responsibilities
Design and execute functional and regression test cases for Customer/1 billing systems.
Validate billing calculations, adjustments, and data accuracy across integrations.
Analyze system requirements and translate them into clear test scenarios.
Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
Collaborate with development and business teams to validate fixes and enhancements.
Perform end-to-end testing across billing, customer, and financial systems.
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide post-release validation.
Maintain test data, results, and documentation for audit readiness.
Ensure testing aligns with utility compliance and quality standards.
Core requirements
5+ years of testing experience within energy or utility billing systems.
Hands-on experience with Customer/1 (C1) or similar enterprise billing applications.
Strong understanding of utility billing workflows and rate structures.
Experience writing and executing SQL queries for data validation.
Proven defect management and triage experience.
Familiarity with test management tools such as ALM, JIRA, or Zephyr.
Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
Strong communication and coordination skills across business and technical teams.
Ability to work independently in a distributed or hybrid setting.
Nice to have
Experience in testing integrations between Customer/1 and ERP or CRM systems.
Exposure to automation frameworks for billing validation.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance within utility billing operations.
Experience with data migration or upgrade testing for C1 systems.
