Job Description

The Bar Manager oversees daily operations of the Blue Bar, The Cavalier’s principal bar, ensuring exceptional hospitality, smooth service, and elevated beverage quality. This role also supports Marianne’s Salon, our intimate speakeasy open on Friday & Saturdays nights. The position combines hands-on leadership during service with administrative management and creative cocktail development.

Operational Duties
  • Work four shifts per week on the floor, primarily in the Blue Bar, to oversee daily operations and ensure seamless service that reflects The Cavalier’s hospitality standards.
  • Train, supervise, and support bartenders and barbacks to maintain consistency, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.
  • Cover shifts in Marianne’s Salon as needed, ensuring the same level of excellence in service and cocktail execution during Saturday and Fright Night operations.
Administrative:  Dedicate one day per week to administrative duties
  • Supporting inventory for all spaces.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of the liquor room, bar fridges, and prep areas.
  • Overseeing batching of cocktails and ensuring accurate prep and labeling according to recipes and health standards.
Bar Standards & Service
  • Maintain and enforce Blue Bar service and quality standards, ensuring the guest experience aligns with The Cavalier’s brand of refined hospitality.
  • Implement and uphold cocktail recipes, presentation standards, and service protocols.
  • Assist Managers with ordering for all bar-related needs, including spirits, beer, supplies, sidebar items, and non-alcoholic ingredients.
  • Support ongoing training to ensure team members deliver consistent and knowledgeable service across all venues.
Cocktail Development
  • Create innovative cocktails and contribute to seasonal menus, special events, and Marianne’s Salon experiences.
  • Eligible for a monetary incentive for approved seasonal cocktail creations featured on menus.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Rate:
    • $20–$25/hour plus gratuity during service shifts.
    • $25–$35/hour for administrative shifts, based on experience.
  • Healthcare Eligibility: Eligible for health care benefits after 90 days of employment.
  • Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work Thanksgiving and Christmas
